Why Every Woman Should Travel Alone at Least Once
Have you ever seen someone traveling alone and wondered what made them want to venture out solo? In a world full of meet ups, social media, and complete overexposure to shallow social activities, it is quite rare to see someone enjoying the company of themselves.
One of the best things anyone can do for themselves is to create a space where they are safely allotted "me time". Me time does not mean spending time with your friends, family, or loved one. Me time means spending time with your yourself so that you can unplug, recharge, and come back to the drawing board with a clearer head and a better understanding of self.
Traveling alone is beneficial for a number of reasons. The main reason being that it gives you quiet time. Simple as that. You can travel, stay in the hotel room, or pick a spot beach side where you sip mojitos and read a good book all day. The choice is yours! Either way you'll be given time alone to regroup.
Another reason why traveling alone is great is because there are fewer constraints. You're not on anyone's schedule but your own which is great for people who like to linger. I personally like to travel alone because it's easier to maneuver through various airports and cities. Not to mention it's cheaper overall.
Traveling alone forces you to become a problem solver on a whim. You're forced to organize things, plan ahead, and make concise decisions without the aid of anyone else. Traveling should be an adventure! Not a micromanaged activity put together by someone you'd realistically, not even prefer to travel with.
When you travel solo you have the chance to get more in tune with yourself as a spiritual being. You have a chance to sit down and meditate in peace, or to reflect on your life. You take in your surroundings and let the sun beam down on your face. For a moment, you are one with the universe. You are at peace with self. Life is beautiful.
One of my favorite parts of traveling alone is being able to connect with strangers. Some of the best conversations I've had in my life were with people i'll never see again. They told me things about themselves and their lives that they probably would not have felt comfortable sharing with someone they see on a regular basis. We share our secrets and then go back to the worlds we've created for ourselves at home.
If you haven't taken a vacation on your own before, now is the time to do so. What are you waiting for? Embrace the uncertainty of getting to know yourself all over again and take a chance on life! You'll be thankful you did..
