We arrived in the middle of spring, right after the cherry blossom bloomed. Beautiful green grass, trees and beautiful flowers everywhere. The end of April is a great time to visit. There is still a little snow on the mountains so you get the greatest weather to explore. Not too hot and not too cold. Right after spring break so its easy to get around.
Everywhere you go its a view of the water and a true feel of the culture.
We stayed in the in Waterfront Downtown Vancouver. Almost every hotel has a beautiful view of the harbor. Pinnacle Hotel is a great waterfront hotel. Its right across the street bay. Walking distance to all of the greatest places in Vancouver B.C. Canada.
I'm going to tell you all about the great food and great places to visit. Vancouver is more for the outdoors type.
Our first stop was at The Keg Steakhouse. Just a 5 min walk from our hotel. They have two happy hours. 3pm til 6pm and 9:30pm until closing. They make some amazing drinks. The must have drinks Sangria and Dark Storm. On there secret menu, ask about the three cheese butter to go with the always hot always fresh bread. This visit we decided to just go with just starters. They have prime rib sliders. They take medium rare prime rib. Slice it thin and layer it on to a potato bun with a small amount of horseradish sauce. Oh it was amazing. Next because we are right on the water and seafood is so so fresh. We decided to try the ahi tuna tacos. Paired with a traditional corn shell, purple cabbage slaw and a hint of wasabi. Oh they were perfect. Food in Canada just seem so much better. So fresh and well prepared.
Our first full day we were in full tourist mode. I wanted to see and do it all. So that is what we did. Starting at 7am we got up to hunt down the magical place called Mink Chocolate Cafe. This cafe specializes in Chocolate. All coffees are made with chocolate. They also give you a mini chocolate square with each order. I had a frozen chocolate and a Belgium waffle. The Belgium waffle had Belgium sugar in it. So amazingly good. The frozen chocolate was so amazing. For this place to be so close to Starbucks. They stay busy. They are so popular that they don't even have to open up for the breakfast or before work rush. I was sold. We went the first day and we went on our last day.
This started our adventure. Fly over Canada was the best part of our trip. It felt so real. FlyOver Canada utilizes state of the art technology to give you the feeling of flight. The ride includes special effects, including wind, mist and scents. FlyOver Canada combines motion to create an unforgettable experience.
Our next adventure is The Capilano Suspension Bridge. It was so much fun. Everything bridge was held up by suspension ropes. Suspension ropes are what they use to hold up and move elevators. The beautiful views from 230 ft in the air. The breath taking water falls and river.
They have a yummy treat once you get to the other side of the bridge. Beaver Ball, are basically what we call silver dollar pancakes. They are fluffy and topped with what ever you like. This trip is a 3 hr hike going all the way to the top of the trees. You can also do a cliff walk. Which was super crazy but so worth it.
Before you leave make sure you check out the fresh made fudge in the gift shop. They make it right there and they have homemade ice cream. ( I cant speak for the ice cream but the fudge is to die for)
For dinner we went to Japanese BBQ. I know I have said everything I had was amazing but really this was so amazing. I loved everything from Canada.
The next day we woke up late. This city is so calm and relaxing that you cant help but to take it slow. Sat around drinking coffee and enjoying the view
When finally got up it we took an amazing walk along the Harbor wall and just enjoyed the outdoors and perfect weather.
For lunch your should go to a nice little cafe called Take 5. Great sandwiches and drinks. They have about three locations but the one we went to was right on the bay. Such a great little location.
After lunch we did a little more shopping. They have all the great stores Like Gucci and Burberry, Nike and Forever 21 (which is totally different from the ones in California). They have a lot of Canadian stores as well. We had a great time shopping because we got more for our money. Thing were $50 and some change in Canadian dollars was just $35 and some change US dollars. I found it was better to just use your card rather than to doing a money exchange.
I really hope you look at these pictures, red my experience and decide to visit Vancouver B.C. Canada. Once of the most beautiful places on earth.
